This compact SUV seats 5 and has a side-hinged rear cargo door. Trim levels include Base, Premium, and Limited. All have a 166-horsepower 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard on the Base. A wireless cell-phone link is optional on the Premium and Limited.
The Premium and Limited use a 4-speed automatic. Grand Vitara’s previously optional 3.2-liter V6 has been discontinued. All are available with rear-wheel drive. Two all-wheel-drive systems are offered: Single-mode AWD and Suzuki’s “4-Mode” AWD that includes a locking differential, hill ascent and descent control, and low-range gearing for off-road use.
